Privacy Policy: How We Protect Your Data

This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect when you use carrentalstangier.com, why we collect it, who receives it and what rights you have under this privacy policy.

Data controller: [legal company name], [address], Tangier, Morocco, e-mail [privacy e-mail]. We process personal data in line with Moroccan Law 09-08 (CNDP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

1. What Personal Data We Collect

  • Booking inquiries: name, e-mail, phone number, nationality, country of residence, the country that issued your driving licence, your passport or ID number (optional – only if you enter it), driver age range, chosen car, dates, pick-up and return places, extras, preferred contact method and any message you write.
  • Contact messages: name, e-mail, phone number (optional), subject and message.
  • Technical data: a shortened (anonymised) IP address, the page you sent the form from and your language.

2. Why We Use It

We use your data to answer your request, prepare a quote and, if you go ahead, to prepare and manage your rental. We also use it to prevent spam and abuse and to meet legal obligations. Our legal bases are your request (steps before a contract), our legitimate interest in a secure website and, where required, your consent.

3. Who Receives It

Only our team and service providers that help us run the website: hosting, e-mail delivery (SMTP provider) and Cloudflare, which provides the Turnstile anti-spam check on our forms. If enabled, fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and the map on some pages comes from Google Maps. We do not sell your data.

4. How Long We Keep It

Inquiries and messages are kept for [period, for example 24 months] after the last contact, unless a longer period is required for a rental contract, accounting or the law.

5. Your Rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to object to processing or to withdraw your consent at any time by writing to [privacy e-mail]. You may also complain to the data-protection authority of your country. In Morocco this is the CNDP.

6. Cookies

This website uses only technical storage needed for its forms and security. If you add analytics or advertising tools, update this section and your consent banner.

7. Security

We protect the data you send with encrypted connections (HTTPS), access limited to our team and spam protection on every form. No system is perfectly secure, so if you suspect misuse of your data please contact us immediately. The privacy policy of each service provider also applies to the data it processes for us.

8. Children

Our services are intended for adults who are allowed to drive. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy. The date of the last update is [date]. Questions? Use our contact page. See also the rental terms.
